By cultivating the most true-to-nature botanical extracts for our formulations, we have embraced a method mimicking what takes place in the plant world – the movement of phyto-compounds by natural ingredients.
Plant Power
Phyto-compounds are plant-based bioactive chemical compounds. They are what causes the changes in your own cells to create healthier hair.
(Did you know, ‘phyto’ comes from the Greek word for plant?)
Unlike other extraction methods that place the plant under extreme stress and compromise the quality of the output, our extractions do not degrade the plant’s biomatrix. This means our extracts are cleaner, fresher, more effective and more flexible than those extracted by traditional means. Oh, and they’re also free from synthetic additives.
As hair experts, we continue to monitor the study of botanicals and their properties and if we can do better for your hair, we will.
Enhances the hair's natural growth cycle.
With positive effects on hair growth and conditioning by:
- Extending the anagen (growth) phase
- Inhibiting the catagen (transition) phase
- Supporting the development of hair cells
- Counteracting hair follicle irritation (which can make hair thinner and smaller).
Anagen – the growth phase
Anagen is the longest phase of hair growth, lasting approximately 3-5 years. During this phase, the hair cells are rapidly dividing so more new hair is formed. When hair is healthy, approximately 90% of hair follicles are in anagen at any one time.
Catagen – the transition phase
Lasting about 10 days, the catagen phase represents the end of active hair growth. The hair follicles shrink and individual hairs separate from the bottom of the follicle, cutting it off from cellular reproduction.
Telogen – the resting phase
Before the hair strands are released from the follicle, the strands remain in place but are not actively growing. This is the telogen phase and it generally lasts around 3 months.
Exogen – the shedding phase
As the name suggests, this is when strands are shed from the scalp, released from the follicle as new hairs form below. Losing between 50-100 hairs during the exogen phase is normal, and this stage of the process can last about 2-5 months.
