Why does my hair smoke when I curl it?
If you see smoke when you style your hair with a heated tool, it's probably because you've applied too much product (or, it’s still wet). It's OK to use a little hairspray, but you don't want to go overboard. Too much product encourages burning, which can lead to breakage, especially on blonde and fine hair.
How often should you put heat on your hair?
We do not recommend styling your hair with heat every day. Hot tools, including blow driers, can make your hair look crispy and create split ends if overused. We suggest a blowout 1-3 times a week and try to limit your flat iron/curling iron usage to 1-2 times a week. And always use a heat protectant spray before styling.
