STOP Doing This to Wet Hair

STOP Doing This to Wet Hair

We know you're busy and we love that you are taking time for your hair because even if you have no time for styling, clean hair is a must.

But, did you know? When your hair is wet, it is at its most vulnerable, so, it’s important to take care of your hair after you wash it. Clean hair is great, but damaged hair is not. If you want healthy, damage-free hair, you need to stop doing these things to wet hair.

1. Sleeping on it

Sometimes, the last thing you want to do at night is spend time blow drying your freshly washed hair, or wait even longer for it to dry naturally. If waking up with a tangled mess isn’t the goal, avoid sleeping on wet hair. Sorting out that bird's nest in the A.M. is going to be so much harder than it needs to be and you’ll end up with major frizz and split ends. When blow drying is out of the question, invest in a Waffle Hair Wrap and dry your hair whilst you get ready for bed.

2. Using the wrong brush - use a comb instead

The type of brush or comb that you are using to rake through your wet hair is more important than you think, especially now that you know that wet hair is super prone to damage. A wide tooth comb, like the Beach Comb, will help you get through those knots without breaking your precious strands or creating frizz.

3. Skipping ahead to the straightener.

Time in the morning has the habit of getting away from us all.  You’ve spent a minute with the hair drier on high, but your hair is still kind of damp. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT, skip straight to the flat iron. Even the slightest amount of heat from your styling tool of choice, when used on damp hair, will cause the cuticle to burn. We know how appealing these shortcuts may seem, but it is not worth jeopardising the quality of your hair.

4. Towel hair drying - use a hair wrap to dry naturally.

It’s easy, it’s effective (kind of), but, you need to stop with the towel drying. The fibres in towels are way too coarse and damaging to your hair and can ruin your hair’s natural texture. This is where the Waffle Hair Wrap comes in handy.

A hair wrap will allow you to do the initial drying without the friction. You won’t need to spend nearly as long on blow drying, and you’ll avoid the frizz and flyaways, leaving your hair softer and damage-free.
